Super 60

After years of HEART work, with the support of donors and well wishers... abhaya CCL Empowerment Campus at Anatapuram is completed. Trustees formed the Executive Body and visited the campus too. At abhaya we strive to lend a hand to the needy at all times. We also encourage other organisations who would want to serve the society. We try and help them with the required manpower, premises, etc...It's like joining Hands...Heads...Hearts in serving the community. abhaya never say No to any like minded NGOs...For them criteria is only Selfless Work. There are scores of NGOs who joined hands in service with abhaya. One such organisation is Niswartha Foundation with its "Super 60" program. A few details of the program are below: Niswartha Foundation , Uravakonda, Anantapuram Dist, AP   The atlas shrugged its shoulders when it was asked to shoulder the burden of responsibility. With a motto to serve selflessly and to carry the responsibility of improving the pitfalls of society

abhaya Hunt The Winter 2020

The 2020 population count was a stellar accumulation of unimaginable numbers. It outlined the total population of the country sweeping 1.3 Billion in numbers. Given the gradual and imminent increase in the population over years we can approximate the numbers to have touched the ceiling limit of 1.4 million  – given the 50 births per minute record rate.      As obvious as it sounds, the census was not only about recording the total population. It counted the total males, females, poor, rich, healthy, sick, young, old, homeless … ah, the homeless. Let’s pause and have a look at what the report has to say about it.    It is defined in the report that the homeless are those who do not live in houses, but rather stay on pavements, roadsides, railway platforms, staircases, temples, streets, in pipes, or other open spaces. There are 1.8 million homeless people in India consisting of single men, women, mothers, the elderly, and the disabled. Let’s put this in perspective, alright? As I

Ebbs and flows are part and parcel in the cruise of life. Voyager’s intention is to hold the steering tight, face the mighty inevitable storm, sail through the torrential rains, beat the oceans in its own game. Srimati Alivelumanga Thayaru steered her ship through the mightiest of oceans, bent the societal flows, helped others build their ships and sail along with her, and in the end on the inevitable day as her ship sank her soul swayed away and mixed itself with the blue sky and started it's journey to God's Adobe to resonate the meaning of life forever. If it’s not clear yet, it is his holiness Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami ji's mother who is in the details. Like mother, like son. Many a time, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji shared with everyone about his mother who permitted him to take sainthood (yathya:sram). He is ever grateful to his mother for happily letting him choose to serve the cause of his acharya, and not limit him with a unit family. Lovingly known as &qu

The Rich And Hope

As the saying goes "Richness is measured in sharing the wealth, not having it".   Meenamma, a humble lady aged 85, made us realize the truth behind the saying.      When the heart and soul of abhaya Foundation, Mr. Balachandra, tests positive for Covid-19 on an unfortunate day. Panicked Meenamma rushes to the manager, gives her Mangalsutra, requests it to be sold for treatment and prays selflessly for his recovery.  Not many days back, she had also donated her Gold bangles for a good cause. A few days later, to our dismay, she falls sick and tests positive for the Coronavirus. The humble lady she is, offers to sell her earrings and gleans some money for the treatment. The founder , after a few days of hospital care, recovered and headed back to abhaya Home.  The news about Meenamma leaves him awestruck. Listening to everyone sing praises about her selfless being, the founder lands somewhere deep inside the melancholy of melody.  Her 85 years of selfless being, graced by G

abhaya's lending hand to Surabi Drama Co

All the big and successful business magnates like The Ambani's, Tata's and Birla's have one common mantra for their success, yes it's a generation run business, to be precise it's a third-generation run business. If a third-generation business can reach such great heights, we can imagine what Fifth-Generation artists would have achieved.    I take the opportunity here to introduce the famous Surabi Drama Co of Hyderabad which was set up in a mere garage by    Vanarasa  Govinda Rao  in 1885 which is now the only surviving example of Company Theatre.   In the initial stages, it started with Puppet shows and now more than 240 families are a part of the play. The plays are now been directed by Padmashri Rekandar Nagesh. All Surabhi productions are large-scale mythological and musical plays, based on stories from the  Ramayana , Mahabharata and Shrimad Bhagavatam.  To know more about the great works of Surabi Group, click  here     In the Mahabharata play, we all are awa
