After years of HEART work, with the support of donors and well wishers... abhaya CCL Empowerment Campus at Anatapuram is completed. Trustees formed the Executive Body and visited the campus too. At abhaya we strive to lend a hand to the needy at all times. We also encourage other organisations who would want to serve the society. We try and help them with the required manpower, premises, etc...It's like joining Hands...Heads...Hearts in serving the community. abhaya never say No to any like minded NGOs...For them criteria is only Selfless Work.   The 2020 population count was a stellar accumulation of unimaginable numbers. It outlined the total population of the country sweeping 1.3 Billion in numbers. Given the gradual and imminent increase in the population over years we can approximate the numbers to have touched the ceiling limit of 1.4 million  – given the 50 births per minute record rate.      As obvious as it sounds, the census was not only about recording the total population. As the saying goes "Richness is measured in sharing the wealth, not having it".   Meenamma, a humble lady aged 85, made us realize the truth behind the saying.      When the heart and soul of abhaya Foundation, Mr. Balachandra, tests positive for Covid-19 on an unfortunate day. Panicked Meenamma rushes to the manager, gives her Mangalsutra, requests it to be sold for treatment and prays selflessly for his recovery.  Not many days back, she had also donated her Gold bangles for a good cause. A few days later, to our dismay, she falls sick and tests positive for the Coronavirus. The humble lady she is, offers to sell her earrings and gleans some money for the treatment. If a third-generation business can reach such great heights, we can imagine what Fifth-Generation artists would have achieved.    I take the opportunity here to introduce the famous Surabi Drama Co of Hyderabad which was set up in a mere garage by    Vanarasa  Govinda Rao  in 1885 which is now the only surviving example of Company Theatre.   In the initial stages, it started with Puppet shows and now more than 240 families are a part of the play. Durga prasad from Rajahmundry lost his leg due to blood clot. He needed funds to get an artificial limb. Family background : He lost his job after losing his limb. He is a father of 2 daughters who were 1 year and 4 years at that time. His wife is uneducated and cannot support the family. CS lakshmi a friend of Durga Prasad brought this mission to Abhaya and they requested for funds. Lakshmi gave Rs.50,000 but artificial limb may cost around Rs.1,20,000. This mission was posted in Whatsapp group. Within minutes, a very good response came from Dr.Suresh, Bionic Clinic, Hyderabad. He stated that he will take up the entire case. Durga Prasad was advised to visit Abhaya and Bionic and travel support was also given to him. Abhaya with the help of Lakshmi pooled Rs.25,000 for him. Abdullah approached Abhaya foundation in March 2015. At that time he was studying third year BTech in Vignana Jyothi Institue of Engineering and Technology, Bachupally. His room rent was 2500 and had to bear food expenses also. He got support from his relative also but that was not sufficient. Abhaya suggested him part time job. Soon he got one part time job and started earning Rs.800. Abhaya added support by providing accommodation money. He is working well and at the same time concentrated on his studies. Family Background  :  Irfan's family  is financially very poor. He lost his father at an early age and he has a younger sister who is doing air hostess training with the support of Abhaya. He used to earn Rs.7000 per month and send Rs.5000 to his sister for her hostel fees. His mother is a beautician who works at home and this is how they are leading their life. When he approached Abhaya, Irfan was studying BBM second year in Nalanda degree college, Vijayawada. He was also working for BPO job and earned Rs.7000 per month.  Irfan had to pay Rs.21500 for second year and was not allowed for the exams until its paid. Nagaraju aimed at getting into defense forces with his NCC credentials. He has passed C certificate exam in NCC. For that he should have continuous education without any gap. So he first tried for BSc but could not get seat and then opted for BTech. Family background : Nagaraju's father expired in 2003. He has 2 sisters. Elder one got married. His mother is working as agricultural laborer. She is earning around Rs.4000 to Rs.5000 per month. She and her younger daughter are maintaining livelihood with that little amount. They have an acre of land which is pledged with SBH. He belongs to BC-D and is a BPL candidate. He lived with his uncle in Addagutta who has been providing him food and clothing for some days. Sireesha approached Abhaya for her education fees and completed her BSc successfully and started working in a fertilizer company. Family background : P.Sireesha Ponneri from Chittoor district  was studying in BSc (Agriculture)  in Trinity Academy of Agriculture, Balaji Nagar, Secunderabad. She comes from poor family. Her father expired in December 2010. Since then her mother is working as attender in Sri Visweswara Junior college and feeding the family and earning Rs.4000 per month. Her mother has to take care of her three daughters and one son.
