Abhaya - Kalyan

This post is about lending our hands for Mr. Kalyan who is in a very bad condition and needs some serious help. Kalyan, a 30 year old "tailor", was hit by an auto rickshaw on July 15 2010. Kalyan was seriously injured and was admitted in "Sun Shine Hospital", Hyderabad where he is undergoing treatment. Doctors said that Kalyan was to be operated on soon so as to reset his 'acetabular fracture' i.e., fracture near his hip joint. He was directly hit by an auto rickshaw on his hip which was coming head-on onto the auto in which Kalyan was travelling. It was a very serious injury.

The operation costs around Rs.2 lakhs and the operation should be done as soon as possible.
Kalyan is from a family of seven and is a main source of the family income. His parents are old and cannot afford such a huge amount. His brother, the only other earning member in his family, has tried his level best in amassing an amount of Rs.40,000 for his brother`s operation and cannot get more as he has the responsibility of the whole family. His parents are also not in sound health.

It will take 24 months for kalyan to recover as told by the doctors, so his brother has to take care of the entire family till his brother recuperates. Kalyan`s brother Badrinath approached Abhaya for help. Now it is for us to bring out our human side to support his family and help Kalyan to get on his legs and standby for his family because we all know--"HELPING HANDS ARE ALWAYS BETTER THAN PRAYING LIPS".

Let us contribute some amount that is alloted for our fun time to help someone in their bad time...
PS: As of now abhaya is able to bring in Rs.50,000/- as against targeted Rs.1,00,000/-. We
request all abhayans and well wishers to please do something for this Mission. Thank You.

abhaya Hunt The Winter 2020

The 2020 population count was a stellar accumulation of unimaginable numbers. It outlined the total population of the country sweeping 1.3 Billion in numbers. Given the gradual and imminent increase in the population over years we can approximate the numbers to have touched the ceiling limit of 1.4 million  – given the 50 births per minute record rate.      As obvious as it sounds, the census was not only about recording the total population. It counted the total males, females, poor, rich, healthy, sick, young, old, homeless … ah, the homeless. Let’s pause and have a look at what the report has to say about it.    It is defined in the report that the homeless are those who do not live in houses, but rather stay on pavements, roadsides, railway platforms, staircases, temples, streets, in pipes, or other open spaces. There are 1.8 million homeless people in India consisting of single men, women, mothers, the elderly, and the disabled. Let’s put ...

Facet

Since how many days are we seeing people around us who are financially low but has immense talent. Since how many days are we seeing people around us who get deprived of oppurtunities because of their status in the society. Since how many days are we thinking that "Hope I get a chance to help such people"...."Hope I can do something to change the society I am living in". There are some people who take the lead to help others. There are some who wish they could but cannot find the correct way to do it. And there are others who have apprehensions about helping others, escpecially when money is involved. "What if the money I give doesnt reach the affected"..."What if my money gets wasted by the organisation". Believe me, I have journeyed through all the three cases. But my luck has it that I travalled exactly from the last case to the first. And now, I could trust that whatever money I collect or give or donate would definitely reach the needy...
