Why is it so difficult to help others....?
Do we not have confidence that we can do something for others or is it the lack of empathy in us....??
All these blogs and Facebook accounts have been created to get closer to the younger minds. Yet, we do not see any kind of response from them. Are we so immersed in the race of life that we cannot see the grievances of the people living around us?
One day, I keep a status about a hero or a song.....The very next hour...I receive umpteen number of likes and comments regarding that....
But, when I keep a status regarding social service or regarding saving money to donate to the needy....I hardly receive 1% of the response that I got earlier...
Is it so difficult to save money for someone else?
Is it necessary to know the person to help him?
Is it not our minimum social responsibility that we give back something to the society?
We donot know the urgency of the need until something happens to any of our friends or people we know....Until something happens, we stay stubborn not to act...Until our near ones feel the pain, we fail to understand that there are so many people around us who are in need of help.....Why can't we be the starting point? Are we doing anything wrong? NO...then why the fear to start something new when we know that we are doing an auspicious thing.
When I told someone that we are in need of 2.5 laks for mission santosh and asked him to donate just a 100rs....he replied...."How is my 100rs going to help him?...he needs 2.5 laks....lite lo yaar....we can't help...."
Do you know that only 8% of the solar radiation reaches the earth and we all are living only with that...?
Do you that of all the water that is present on earth, less than 1% is fit to be drunk and we are living on that....?
Do you know that all of us living beings are made up of millions and millions of minute particles called atoms but still we have a whole body...??
Everything and Anything will help us in our pursuit of a better society...It is not the amount which you have donated, all that really matters is the thought that you got...to help others....!!
In doing service to the society, we are transforming not only the lives of the people but also the lives of ourselves.

100% right nishanth.. same kind of responses at my end.. we always write such posts,share things on facebook, send emails, update website , sms ,call...etc.. but still we r not able to reach our close friends also on this subject... with so much of hope n excitement to do something good to the society or help a person in need we start some activity and get a very little response as u said..how should we take it and how shall we go forward... plz help me out with the answers....

ReplyDeleteAs our mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. You mentioned a worthy point here,The donation is not important,we need participation and awareness for social responsibility. Collectively flowers make a bouquet, drops make an ocean. Everyone should understand this and start helping others in their own way. We should continue the good work... without waiting for others to join us. Thank you for another nice post..!!
