Mission Durga Prasad : Healthcare

Durga prasad from Rajahmundry lost his leg due to blood clot. He needed funds to get an artificial limb.

Family background : He lost his job after losing his limb. He is a father of 2 daughters who were 1 year and 4 years at that time. His wife is uneducated and cannot support the family.

CS lakshmi a friend of Durga Prasad brought this mission to Abhaya and they requested for funds. Lakshmi gave Rs.50,000 but artificial limb may cost around Rs.1,20,000.

This mission was posted in Whatsapp group. Within minutes, a very good response came from Dr.Suresh, Bionic Clinic, Hyderabad. He stated that he will take up the entire case. Durga Prasad was advised to visit Abhaya and Bionic and travel support was also given to him. Abhaya with the help of Lakshmi pooled Rs.25,000 for him. He was also educated about the usage of the artificial limb.

Durga prasad came to stay in Abhaya in March 2016 for 10 days and took training in Bionic.
He moved from immobility to mobility.

He conveyed thanks to Dr. Suresh (Bionic Outreach), Lakshmi and Abhaya foundation.

In October 2016, he had pain in chest and travelled without informing Abhaya. His doctor advised him to pay Rs.50,000. He approached Abhaya. Foundation suggested him to meet Dr.Anil Kumar of Sunshine hospital Secunderabad. Doctor treated him at affordable price and after staying for one day in hospital he was discharged.

Durga Prasad and his mother expressed their gratitude and left to Rajahmundry.

abhaya Hunt The Winter 2020

The 2020 population count was a stellar accumulation of unimaginable numbers. It outlined the total population of the country sweeping 1.3 Billion in numbers. Given the gradual and imminent increase in the population over years we can approximate the numbers to have touched the ceiling limit of 1.4 million  – given the 50 births per minute record rate.      As obvious as it sounds, the census was not only about recording the total population. It counted the total males, females, poor, rich, healthy, sick, young, old, homeless … ah, the homeless. Let’s pause and have a look at what the report has to say about it.    It is defined in the report that the homeless are those who do not live in houses, but rather stay on pavements, roadsides, railway platforms, staircases, temples, streets, in pipes, or other open spaces. There are 1.8 million homeless people in India consisting of single men, women, mothers, the elderly, and the disabled. Let’s put ...

abhaya's lending hand to Surabi Drama Co

All the big and successful business magnates like The Ambani's, Tata's and Birla's have one common mantra for their success, yes it's a generation run business, to be precise it's a third-generation run business. If a third-generation business can reach such great heights, we can imagine what Fifth-Generation artists would have achieved.    I take the opportunity here to introduce the famous Surabi Drama Co of Hyderabad which was set up in a mere garage by    Vanarasa  Govinda Rao  in 1885 which is now the only surviving example of Company Theatre.   In the initial stages, it started with Puppet shows and now more than 240 families are a part of the play. The plays are now been directed by Padmashri Rekandar Nagesh. All Surabhi productions are large-scale mythological and musical plays, based on stories from the  Ramayana , Mahabharata and Shrimad Bhagavatam.  To know more about the great works of Surabi Group, click  here     ...
